5 Jobs the NFT Market Has Created

There are ways to make money in NFTs without buying and selling a single NFT. With over $25B in digital assets traded over the past 12 months, this market wouldn’t exist without a multitude of developers, artists, community managers, marketers, and more. Yet, we rarely talk about the jobs that NFTs are creating.

For instance, every single NFT project has a Discord or Telegram community. These communities are a lot of work to manage. From engaging with collectors to answering questions to sustaining interest in the project with internal updates, Discord is where the life of many projects is created. Managing Discord is a full-time job. And I’m not just saying that as a cliché. Hundreds of people are employed as Discord Managers for NFT projects.

One of our favorite testimonials of The NFT Handbook came from a reader who hadn’t known a single thing about NFTs. They read the handbook, started connecting with people on Twitter, and ended up landing a job as a Discord Manager of a Solana-based NFT project. In the span of a month, they completely changed their life around – getting equity in a project that did over a million dollars in volume simply because they understood NFTs and had time to help manage their chat community.

The next job to have this type of growth, in my opinion, will be metaverse architects. With so many people flocking toward virtual real estate and many people buying land with the intention of seeing its value appreciate, we’re going to need designers that can develop virtual properties.

In today’s video, we discuss the variety of jobs that the NFT market has created in just the past year. And we cover what skills we’d advise people to learn in order to ensure their marketability in the NFT job market (should you ever decide to take a role there).

The common denominator among all of these jobs, though, is a basic knowledge of NFTs at the minimum. Taking the time to learn about this technology is future-proofing yourself. Understanding NFTs is not just beneficial to bugging people at parties. There’s a real NFT job market forming with a need for knowledgeable employees.

It’ll be interesting to see how new roles emerge, change, and evolve over time. As long as the money keeps flowing into digital assets, there will be roles outside of being a project creator.

We talk about this concept in greater detail in Episode 25 of the NFT QT Show – 6 Ideas that Will Influence the Future of NFTs –  which you can watch here: https://youtu.be/bBPOJbyDErw
